This gallery space is built around the work of illustrator C.S. Logan, whose drawings and paintings are presented here as a quiet, text-led exhibition rather than a loud commercial showcase. The layout follows the same calm logic throughout: generous white space, thin rules dividing sections, and typography doing nearly all of the visual work. The paintings themselves supply the color, and the pages around them stay deliberately restrained so the eye lands on the artwork first.

The exhibition record shown here documents shows attended by an engineering machinery company, with each entry pairing a fair name with the dates it ran and a short note on what the event covered. Reading through the list is a way of tracing the arc of the business across several seasons of international exhibitions, from large construction equipment shows to regional building materials fairs, and seeing how the offerings evolved over time.

Color is the argument on the home page. A wide painterly banner in warm oranges, dusty pinks, and sky blue stretches behind bold uppercase lettering, and everything else on the site is set in near-black sans-serif type on soft off-white. The contrast is deliberate and singular: one image carries the emotion, and the surrounding words carry the information. It reads as a gallery wall with a single, well-placed painting.

Beyond the paintings and the exhibition history, the site gathers the artist's own words and the material that surrounds them: poems, short reflections, and notes gathered from reading, watching birds, and living in Chicago and elsewhere. The keywords hint at a life shaped by observation and comparison, and the writing carries that sensibility, offering a considered counterpoint to the visual work and a sense of the person behind the brush.

Commissioned work is part of the practice as well. Clients approach the studio for illustrations and paintings, and the process moves between conversation and finished piece in the same unhurried manner the site models in its design. Nothing is rushed and nothing is decorated. What remains is a clear structure of type, whitespace, and imagery, with the artwork given the room it needs to speak for itself.
